• Скачать установочный файл и запустить его.
• Откроется окно установки со стандартным «Приветствием». Нажать «Далее».
• Появится окошко с «Лицензионным соглашением». Поставить галочку напротив фразы «Я принимаю условия лицензионного соглашения» (само соглашение можете не читать, проверять никто не будет), нажать «Далее».
• Выбрать один из вариантов установки «Обычная» или «Выборочная», нажать «Далее». Если вы выберите первое, программа сама разберется, где ей устанавливаться, и поставит вам все компоненты. • Выберите путь установки браузера, нажмите «Далее».
• Выберите, какие ярлычки вам нужны. Варианты «На рабочем столе», «В меню Пуск», «В панели быстрого запуска». Поставьте галочки напротив нужных. Нажмите «Далее». Программа установлена. Вам остается только в открывшемся окне нажать кнопку «Готово» – и можно приступать к работе.

Adding a Device

The following assumes that you already set up Sync on at least one
device (see steps above) and have both devices at hand.

1. On the device with Sync already set up, go to Preferences/Sync and
   choose «Add a Device» from «Manage Account». A new window will open.
2. If your second device is another instance of SeaMonkey, open the
   «Tools» menu from a SeaMonkey browser or MailNews window and select
   «Set Up Sync», then click «Connect». Otherwise follow the steps
   outlined in the Where
   can I find the code to add a device to Firefox Sync article on
   Firefox Help.
3. Enter the code as it is displayed on your second device. Then click
   «Next».
4. When the code is accepted, you will see a Device Connected
   message and your device will immediately begin syncing. Click «Finish»
   to close the setup window and go back to the Sync panel.

1. On the second device, open the «Tools» menu from a SeaMonkey browser
   or MailNews window and select «Set Up Sync».
2. Click «Connect».
3. Click «I don’t have the device with me» below the three boxes.
4. Enter your Sync email address and password, then click «Next».
5. Enter your Sync Key (Recovery Key) and click «Next».
6. You will see a Setup Complete message. Click «Finish» to
   close the setup window.

System Requirements, Installation and Uninstallation

Before installing, make sure your computer meets the
system requirements.
Please note that the new Windows x64 version will only support Windows 7 x64
and up. You need to uninstall a previous Windows x86 version if you want to use
it. Installing the x64 over the old x86 is not supported and does not remove
the old version which might cause problems later.
SeaMonkey 2.53.5 will no longer offer to migrate your data from SeaMonkey
1.x or Mozilla 1.x at the first start after installation (bug 689437).
In order to upgrade from such an old version, install the last SeaMonkey 2.0
release first, do the one-time profile upgrade, uninstall SeaMonkey 2.0 and
then install your target release (e.g. this one).If you are on an older release we suggest upgrading to SeaMonkey 2.49.5
first.

• The Bookmarks Manager has switched its name to Library, and now also
  includes the History list. When invoking History, the Library will be shown
  with the History list selected. The extensive modifications were needed
  because of Mozilla Gecko platform API changes.
• Download Manager has been migrated to a new API. Although it looks pretty
  much the same as before, the search option is missing and some other minor
  details work differently. The previous downloads history is removed during
  the upgrade.
• The layout panel was added to the CSS Grid tools.

Функционал

На первый взгляд браузер SeaMonkey напоминает Firefox. На второй тоже. И ничего удивительного. SeaMonkey использует тот же движок – Gecko, да и вообще его так же создавали разработчики Mozilla. SeaMonkey current Council

The SeaMonkey Council is the project leading team.
Its responsibilities include release management (deciding when to cut
releases and what code is included in a release; the release engineer of
the Council is responsible for actually doing the release) and being the
final instance for decisions about features when developers disagree.
The SeaMonkey Council also decides on legal issues concerning the SeaMonkey
project, in conjunction with the Mozilla Foundation, which provides legal
backing for the project.

Ian Neal (IanN) — SeaMonkey code module owner

Ian does work on XUL/JS stuff (mainly UI but also some backend) with a
little bit of simple C++ stuff thrown in. He is the de facto project
manager and main reviewer and has been actively involved in Mozilla
development for about two years before the SeaMonkey project was
started.

Robert Kaiser (KaiRo)

KaiRo has been working on localizing the Mozilla suite (now SeaMonkey)
since late 1999. He served as project coordinator until 2011. He was
also doing the EarlyBlue and LCARStrek themes and add-ons for data
and download management, among others.

Justin has been working on Mozilla since early 2003, he is currently
advising ewong in all tasks SeaMonkey release related.

in the SeaMonkey Code.

Frank-Rainer Grahl (frg)

frg does development and support work. He is actively involved in most
SeaMonkey areas. As a former software developer on z/OS he joined the
team in 2015 to brush up his skills and got a bit more involved
than he originally planned. When he is not doing work for SeaMonkey he
can be usually found fixing or playing pinball machines

(rsx11m)

rsx11m does development and support work. He is mostly doing
development in the preferences and mail/news areas of SeaMonkey.

Philip Chee (Ratty)

You are Philip Chee, an eccentric extension developer who started
using the Suite when it was still called Mozilla. You eventually got
involved in SeaMonkey development some time in 2006. You work on the
front end of SeaMonkey (XUL/CSS/JS) and have applied yourself to most
parts of SeaMonkey. Your main areas of focus are customizable toolbars
and tabbed browsing. You are also actively involved in community
outreach including communicating with end users and extension
developers. Your less desirable traits include the regrettable
tendency of posting the occasional snarky comment in Firefox and
Thunderbird forums, and talking about yourself in the second person.

Karsten Düsterloh (Mnyromyr)

Karsten’s Mozilla addiction started as a Netscape 1.1 user and hasn’t
left him since — in late 2002 he published the first version of his
Mozilla addon . His key focus is upon SeaMonkey’s
MailNews development.

Jens Hatlak (InvisibleSmiley)

Jens has been a Mozilla user since the early days, naturally
migrating to SeaMonkey and eventually starting to contribute. He is
mainly involved in Sync, general suite UI (including MailNews), Help
and website maintenance.

Neil Rashbrook (Neil) — SeaMonkey code module owner

Neil is the «module owner» of XPFE (most of the SeaMonkey-specific code),
and a super-reviewer focussed on XPFE and MailNews. He has been very
involved in all SeaMonkey related development for years.

Project Area Owners and Peers

The SeaMonkey Project can be divided into several areas, which are listed on
our project areas list. Each of those areas
should have an owner and possibly several peers (people who know the code well
enough to give reviews there), who together care about that area. The sum of
those areas build a strong group of developers, who can move the SeaMonkey
project forward.

Additionally, there’s a vibrant community surrounding those developers, see the

If you want to take an active role in testing or even developing SeaMonkey,
getting involved with the project is fairly
easy for anybody who can donate their time to our efforts.

Troubleshooting

• Some anti-virus software keeps detecting our installers as containing a
  «Trojan» or «Downloader». This is a false positive and is some wrong
  detection mechanism in the anti-virus software. The code in question is
  actually from 7-Zip and decompresses the installer so that its contents can
  run and install SeaMonkey. That technology is widely used and probably can
  be used to compress bad as well as good software, but the 7-Zip code itself
  is perfectly safe. Mozilla scans all our files routinely when putting them
  on the FTP server and we assure you that our installers are as clean as the
  official Firefox downloads that are scanned by the same mechanisms.
• Poorly designed or incompatible extensions can cause problems with
  SeaMonkey, including make it crash, slow down page display, etc.
  If you encounter strange problems relating to parts of SeaMonkey no longer
  working, the browser not starting, windows with strange or distorted
  appearance, degraded performance, etc, you may be suffering from Extension
  or Theme trouble.
  Restart SeaMonkey in Safe Mode. On Windows, start using the «Safe Mode»
  shortcut created in your Start menu or by running
  . On Linux, start with
  and on Mac OS X, run:

  When started in Safe Mode all extensions are disabled and the Default theme
  is used. Disable the Extension/Theme that is causing trouble and then start
  normally.

• If you uninstall an extension that is installed with your user profile
  (i.e. you installed it from a Web page) and then wish to install it for all
  user profiles using the -install-global-extension command line flag, you
  must restart SeaMonkey once to cleanse the profile extensions datasource of
  traces of that extension before installing with the switch. If you do not do
  this you may end up with a jammed entry in the Extensions list and will be
  unable to install the extension globally.
• If you encounter strange problems relating to bookmarks, downloads, window
  placement, toolbars, history, or other settings, it is recommended that you
  try creating a new profile and attempting to reproduce the problem before
  filing bugs. Create a new profile by running SeaMonkey with the -P command
  line argument, choose the «Manage Profiles» button and then choose «Create
  Profile…». Migrate your settings files (Bookmarks, Saved Passwords, etc)
  over one by one, checking each time to see if the problems resurface. If you
  do find a particular profile data file is causing a problem, file a bug and
  attach the file.

Появился довольно быстрый переход Назад и Вперед. Страница, при нажатии данных кнопок, не обновляется, а сразу же отображается из кэша памяти. Была проведена работа над улучшением работы вкладок.

Большинство настроек, которые ранее использовались только внешними программами – были включены и в SeaMonkey.

Доведен до ума блокиратор всплывающих окон. Наиболее серьезные изменения претерпел почтовый клиент. Теперь все ящики представлены в одной группе папок.

При создании новых сообщений по мере набора текста включается проверка орфографии. Слова, которые написаны с ошибками, подчеркиваются волнистой красной чертой. Все сообщения автоматически сохраняются в папу под названием «Черновик».

Существует возможность настройки «Пересылки» и «Ответа». Проведена интеграция с внешними утилитами для борьбы со спамом и программным антивирусным обеспечением.

И Chatzilla и компоновщик, который предназначен для создания Страниц, по сравнению со старой версией особых изменений не претерпели.

В новой версии продукта были сделаны улучшения. Главной проблемой браузера Мозила в последнее время стала невозможность открытия с жесткого диска HTML – страниц, если в их имени есть кириллица.

В новой версии можно просматривать во всплывающих подсказках миниатюры вкладок. Их содержимое при этом не загружено бесполезной информацией, а показывает только уменьшенную копию страницы и ее заголовок.

Разработчики улучшили управлением вкладками. Пользователь может вызывать свойства всех элементов, при помощи щелчка правой кнопки мыши. Подсказки, которые всплывают, больше не обрезаются.

Орфография проверяется не только при наборе текста в почтовом клиенте, но и в окне обозревателя. Это упростило набор сообщений в дневниках и форумах.

В русифицированную версию софта были добавлена пара словарей, которые проверяют орфографию на английском и русском языках. Можно загрузить универсальный толкователь, который будет проверять грамотность сразу же на двух языках.

About SeaMonkey Sync

Sync lets you synchronize your browsing data such as bookmarks, history
and passwords between installations of SeaMonkey or Firefox (e.g. your
computers at home and at work) or mobile phones that support Firefox Sync.

All data is stored securely in a way that allows only you to access it
(encryption happens on the client side). Mozilla provides a default Sync
server free of charge, but individuals can run their
own, too.

After the initial setup, Sync operates in the background, continually
and automatically synchronizing your data with the Sync server (manually
triggering a synchronization is possible, too). Clients that run
simultaneously and access the same Sync account have their data merged
on the fly.

Setting Up Sync

1. Open the «Tools» menu from a SeaMonkey browser or MailNews
   window and select «Set Up Sync…».
2. Click «Create a New Account».
3. If you haven’t done so already, you will be prompted to set up
   a Master Password. You need to choose one in order to have the
   Sync credentials stored securely on your local machine.
4. On the following screen (Account Details), enter your email
   address, create a password and confirm it. Then select «I
   agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy» and
   click «Next».
5. Next you will be presented with the Sync Key (Recovery Key)
   for the Sync account you just created. Save or print a copy of
   it and store it somewhere safe (if you lose it, the data on the
   Sync server is irretrievably lost!). Afterwards, click «Next».
6. Now confirm that you are not a robot by entering the text from
   the image. Then click «Next».
7. You will see a Setup Complete message. Click «Finish»
   to close the setup window. Further customization can be done under
   Preferences/Sync.
8. You do not need to do anything else. SeaMonkey Sync will
   automatically synchronize your data in the background from here
   on. If you wish, you can manually trigger a Sync run at any time using
   either the Tools menu entry «Sync Now» that now appears instead of
   «Set Up Sync», or a Sync button that can be added to any customizable
   toolbar.
   Note: The first synchronization should happen quickly but may
   take more than 30 minutes depending on how much information
   needs to be synced.

Known Issues

This list covers some of the known problems with SeaMonkey 2.0.
Please read this before reporting any new bugs.

• Installing SeaMonkey 2.0 into the same location where an older version of
  SeaMonkey is installed will result in a non-working installation. Either
  install SeaMonkey 2.0 to a different location — for example the default
  installation location as given by the installer — or un-install the older
  version of SeaMonkey first. (Bug 526202)
• Clearing private data can stop password manager from working (including
  password lists appearing empty) until the next restart of SeaMonkey (Bug 523345)
• Only one profile from SeaMonkey 1.x is migrated to SeaMonkey 2.0
  automatically (Bug 383006)
  Workaround: Manually start migration as
  described
  in the knowledge base.
• Migrating a SeaMonkey 1.x profile may set «Use secure authentication»
  in the Outgoing Server (SMTP) settings, which causes an error when trying
  to send to a server supporting GSSAPI (Kerberos authentication) if it is
  not configured on the client machine. Unchecking that option resolves the
  issue. (Bug 522633)
• New email count on the Mac OS X dock icon is sometimes wrong (Bug 509163)
• MailNews account password prompts are no longer serial at startup (Bug 338549)
  Workaround: If a Master Password is set and you saved your login
  credentials, only one prompt will appear at startup. You can disable this
  new behavior by setting signon.startup.prompt to false in
  about:config.
• For some Windows users, cutting or copying text, links, whatever from
  anywhere in SM 2.0 does not appear to place the cut or copied text in the
  Clipboard. Some reports say that «McAfee SiteAdviser Service» might be
  responsible and completely deleting or shutting down this service might fix
  the problem. (Bug 525601)
• Profile Roaming is not working any more (Bug 378647)
• «Turbo mode» (quick launch), including the tray icon, has been removed (Bug 361682)
• Splash screen support (was shown by default on Windows) has been removed
  due to not being implemented in the new toolkit (Bug 329742)
• Download manager sometimes uses high amounts of CPU time with multiple
  downloads active or in the list
