How to Increase Your Security

Several portable antivirus tools can be used to remove malware from a PC. Why are they called portable? Because you put the tools on a portable drive, such as a USB drive, and run them from there, rather than using the infected PC to download them from the Internet.

Not all the tools I list here are truly portable in the sense of running directly from a USB drive or other external media, but they will let you install on your PC from the USB drive. And unlike full anti-malware software, they don’t start running in the background or set themselves to automatically start when you turn on your PC. They’re simply scanners.

Some of these tools include the latest definitions when you download them, but others don’t and will need to download definitions before scanning.

To prevent any malware from communicating over the Internet for as long as possible, start with the offline scanners; those that can run without an Internet connection. After you remove as much malware as possible with those, then connect to the Internet to update and scan with the other scanners.

A couple of these scanners (McAfee GetSusp and VIPRE Rescue) don’t have a visual interface; they run on a command line, so you’ll see a black window with white text appear.

How to Use the Best Portable Antivirus Tools

Let’s walk through the steps to follow to use these portable antivirus scanners on your infected Windows PC.

1. As soon as you notice (or suspect) your PC is infected, shut it off.
2. On a different computer (not the infected one), download the anti-malware tools listed above. If you don’t have another computer, ask a friend for help, or try your local library or an Internet café. This can be done on a Mac or Linux machine; you don’t need Windows to download the software.
3. Find a USB drive (or other external media) to put the anti-malware tools onto. Copy any valuable data from that drive onto a clean (non-infected) computer. Then, copy the anti-malware tools onto the drive.

Еще один отличный способ защиты флешки от вирусов — это установка оповещения, сигнализации. Под словом сигнализация я прячу один достаточно простой способ настройки, который будет оповещать нас  о нарушении в сруктуре данных на флешке, а это в 99% атака вирусных программ.  То есть если простыми словами при включении флеш-карты в любой компьютер вы должны увидеть определенный значок, если его нет — значит вы «поймали вирус», перейдем к делу.

По факту мы поменяем стандартную картинку при запуске на свою и если во время запуска мы не видим картинку, которую поставили для флешки, пора запускать проверку на вирусы. На картинке смотрим наглядно.(нажмите, чтобы увеличить)

Я в виде эксперимента поставил значок дракона, если он когда либо пропадет, значит на флешке произошли изменения с файлами. Соответственно если вы сами их не меняли есть повод задуматься.

Вывод: пропал дракон (картинка при загрузке) — поймали вирус.

Устанавливается картинка в несколько этапов.

1) Необходимо настроить показ расширений для приложений. Для этого идем в меню Пуск — Панель управления — Параметры папок. Нажимаем вкладку вид и листаем в самый низ таблицы — снимаем галочку с пункта: «Скрывать расширения для зарегистрированных типов файлов»

2) Теперь заходим на флешку и создаем текстовый файл с названием autorun.inf — это файл конфигурации, который будет выполнять интересующую нас задачу.

3) Создав такой файл открываем его в обычном блокноте и дописываем код(действие), который необходимо выполнить при запуске.

Пишем код: icon=011.ico

Естественно сохраняем.

4) Теперь нам необходимо сделать иконку, которая будет показываться во время запуска. Основное правило — она должна быть квадратной для корректного отображения и обязательно с разрешением «.ico». Можно легко скачать в интернете, благо сайтов с иконками полно. Ну или просто сделать в фотошопе. Назвать иконку так же как в файле конфигурации — 011 и закинуть на флешку.

Теперь вынимаем флеш-карту и вставляем обратно, при запуске срабатывает автозагрузка и мы видим установленную нами картинку:

Теперь в будущем при запуске всегда обращайте внимание на эту картинку, если в один прекрасный день она пропадет — значит ваши файлы были изменены и скорее всего подверглись заражению. Смысл в том, что вот так просто, обычная картинка будет сигнализировать вас о нормальной работе флешки.

In the end we recommend everyone to install a good paid Antivirus software in the system. If you are unable to afford a paid antivirus, then free antivirus software is better then nothing.

Still some people take this very lightly and does nothing to protect their computer. Computer ignored with minor infection can become severe, which is hard to clean. furthermore an infected computer can give way to enter serious ransomware. It can end up with data loss or money loss.

The Norton Power Eraser tool is compatible with computers running Microsoft Windows operating systems only. It does not work with computers running on macOS. Norton Power Eraser uses aggressive methods to detect threats, and there is a risk that it can select some legitimate programs for removal. Прочие портативные антивирусы (Portable)

Вообще, сейчас Portable-антивирусы немногочисленны, лучшие из них я назвал выше, а ниже перечислю несколько альтернативных вариантов скорее даже для ознакомления. Использование их, как правило, не даёт значимых результатов (ну за исключением Комодо, пожалуй), хотя иногда эти портативные утилиты что-то даже находя и лечат.

Comodo Cleaning Essentials (Free Malware Removal Tool)

Это не просто онлайн-антивирус, а уже целый набор специальных утилит, включающий в себя portable сканер, анализаторы автозапуска, процессов и детектор шпионских и рекламных модулей Hijack Cleaner. В принципе, ничего особо плохого про Комодо сказать не могу. Их программами пользовался достаточно много и часто. Сейчас использую только в том случае, когда нет нормальных альтернатив под рукой.

F-Secure Online Scanner

Очередной онлайн-антивирус от компании F-secure, использующий их фирменную технологию Lighthouse. Он стоит на защите у Facebook — наверное это говорит и какой-то его пользе. Как по мне — красивый внешне и слабоват внутри. Очень много ошибок в работе и нареканий от недовольных пользователей.

Norton Power Eraser

К программным продуктам от Norton я отношусь отрицательно ещё с тех пор, когда приходилось их пачками удалять на клиентских ноутбуках. Этот тяжелый неповоротливый монстр тормозил систему и почти не находил даже известные вирусы. Как работает их хвалёная эвристика Symantec — для меня загадка. Я откровенно недолюбливаю их продукцию и антивирусный сканер без установки Norton Power Eraser здесь не исключение. Очень напрягает его агрессивное вмешательство в работу компьютера. Ладно бы он только вирусы искал, так эта зараза ещё и реестр исправлять лезет. А после таких исправлений можно получить нерабочую Windows. Так что если надумали им пользоваться — обязательно ставьте галку на создание резервной копии реестра!
И да, часто срабатывает на нормальные обычные программы. Это можно увидеть на скриншоте.

Компания Майкрософт никогда серьёзно не занималась антивирусным ПО и пойти по этой тропе их заставили обстоятельства. Их портативный антивирус по весу даже больше чем аналоги от Доктор Веб или Касперский. Приложение работает не сказать чтобы быстро — проверка занимает достаточно много времени. Иногда даже что-то находит. Если полазить в Интернете — положительных отзывов о сканере Microsoft Safety Scanner найдётся достаточно мало.

Kaspersky Security Cloud
